Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making this appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. – 2 Corinthians 5:20
Messenger and Message
An ambassador holds a high position as a representative of one nation to another nation or people group. As a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, you have been given the rank of ambassador for His Kingdom here on Earth. An ambassador is often dispatched with specific messages and you, indeed, have one. As the apostle Paul told the church at Corinth, your message is “be reconciled to God.” Ever since sin entered the world in the Garden of Eden, people have been estranged from God. Desiring restoration, the Father sent Jesus to die on the cross to pay the penalty for sin and offer forgiveness and reconciliation. Reconciliation happens by receiving His grace through faith. Without this, people remain alienated. Your job as an ambassador is to pass that information along within whatever sphere of influence God has placed you. Reconciliation is the Gospel Message. You are a messenger. Stay devoted to His calling.
